Lessons From Lord Ram

Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh is going to witness one of the biggest ceremonies in recent years in the form of Ram temple consecration. So, I have decided to dive into the character of Shri Ram and his noble qualities. I gathered the best lessons from Shri Ram and I will share them with you in this blog.

Significance

The significance of Lord Ram is the way he conducted himself through this series of disasters that occurred to him
Loses his kingdom.
What is rightfully his
Ends up in a forest.
Loses his wife
Gets kidnapped.
Fights a brutal war which he is not interested in.
Endless disasters!

Series of disasters but total balance. We are bowing down to that quality because this is inner management. No matter how many troubles you throw at him, he is always blissful.

Why Shri Ram is worshiped as a God?

Lord Krishna showed miracles and leelas at various stages of his life. His birth itself was a miracle. Many instances in Krishna's life made him godly. He lifted a mountain on a little finger and mesmerized Vrindavan with his Ras Leela. But Ram, he never showed us any Lila. Then why is he worshipped as a god? Imagine From Ayodhya to Lanka by foot.

Ram didn't win a war single-handedly. he took the help of Wanars. Other gods would have won it single-handedly with their powerful weapons. He was like a common man with the resources of a common man. What makes him a godly personality then?

It is his qualities that inspire people. People of India relate themselves with him in all aspects of their life. Ram was an ordinary man, but what he did only god could do. His main focus was always Dharma. Dharma means responsibilities
And duties. There are numerous good qualities of Ram but here are some of them.

Lessons/Qualities of Shri Ram

1. Calmness :

Through many instances, Ram showed true calmness, balance, and peace in his personality. Lord Ram is said to have complete control over his emotions.
that is the quality that made him God.

2. Selflessness :

During the war when Ravan attacked, Ram was a patient, far away from being angry. However, the moment Ravan attacked a Hanuman, Lord Ram started to fight with Ravan and eventually defeated. Lord Ram
never got angry. Ram only fought when his devotee or his Kingdom was hurt.

3. Radiance :

It is said that when Hanuman's eyes fell on Ram's face, Hanuman was totally shaken. His bones were melting. He felt goosebumps all over his body and tears of joy and love started flowing automatically through his eyes. This is Tejas or the Radiance.

Shri Ram was full of love and Radiance. He bestowed love and kindness on everyone irrespective of whether they had wronged him or not.

We all have limitless problems and tragedies. So Ram also had all this in his life, but he chose Equanimity(samatvam).
Ram chose dharma above everything else.

4. Righteousness and Leadership :

Ram never lied or behaved in the wrong way. Dharma or responsibility was the fourth front of the Lord's life. Lord Ram had mastery over all subjects. He had a knowledge of weapons, being a Kshatriya and the Shastras(The Vedas).

He guided numerous people in their life to find their duties, and their dharma, and harmonize with nature and society.

Conclusion :

To be worshipped or to be a god, we do not need any form of magic. Being Extraordinary in the Ordinary by Dharma and being detached from the results makes us nothing else but Godly like Shri Ram.
